Did you miss our “Edward Curtis: Shadow Catcher” exhibit last fall? You can still see a portion of A6’s exhibit this February at Oswego Heritage House in Lake Oswego, Oregon. The museum will feature 34 vintage photogravure prints taken from original volumes and portfolios of Curtis’ North American Indian.
This exhibit is part of a larger community program, “Lake Oswego Reads.” This February, residents of Lake Oswego will collectively ready Timothy Egan’s Curtis biography, “Short Nights of the Shadow Catcher: The Epic Life and Immortal Photographs of Edward Curtis.”
The Lake Oswego Library will welcome author Timothy Egan for a community presentation at the Lake Oswego High School on Wednesday, February 10. Visit www.lakeoswegoreads.org for details.
A6’s Executive Director, Dawn Boone, will give a free talk, “The Artistry of Curtis” at Oswego Heritage House on February 13 at 10 am. Boone will discuss Curtis’ camera work, printmaking process, compositions, and aesthetic.
