Join us as we dive into the irrational, inventive, and unshackled world of Surrealist artists, from Salvador Dali to René Magritte. Rooted in Dada, Surrealism was hugely influential in the 20th Century.

After tracing Surrealism’s influence, we’ll examine the great Catalan artist, Joan Miro. A pupil and friend of Picasso, and a major influence on several American Abstract Expressionists, Miro regarded himself as a lover of his home farm and its everyday world. Both sophisticated (he loved Walt Whitman) and down to earth, Miro still delights us today.
